Daddy

[Imagine peace on earth if soldiers, generals, politicians, strategists and war planners could feel universal Parenthood – Kolki]

They chirp or call, but I hear Daddy,

As they provide me with much needed company

At home as pet or in the wild when walking or jogging

Sharing my joys, sorrows and agonies!

They grow slowly observing me

But I hear silent whisper in the air, calling me Daddy

Some throughout the year, others seasonally

As summer, fall, winter, and spring travels through the valley!

They play in the forest

As they breed, eat, feed and mate

Take a pause staring at me with unfurled eyes

But I hear Daddy in their barking, roaring or sigh!

They swim in lakes, ponds, and oceans

Occasionally come ashore with inquisitive passion

Remind me evolutionary lost principles

Before diving again saying Daddy in old fashion!

They walk, talk, sing, shout like me

As family, community, in villages and countries!

I see children living in harmony or agony!

Some recognize me, pause in amazement ‘Daddy!’!

I am without biological sons and daughters

But together world made me a proud father!

Making my heart bigger and bigger –

Bringing out the best of human nature!
