Why Do I Write
(Dedicated to solution driven creative writing Deepak Sarkar, www.kolki.com)
I was not a vocational writer -
Rather hardware software telecommunications engineer
A musician, composer, teacher, and performer
A party animal, good friend, good neighbour
Law abiding citizen, gardener, and animal lover!
I was busy performing by duties
Gladly shouldering daily chores and responsibilities
Assuming others following their path with honesty
Whether in intelligence, media, military, government, or politics!
Yet watched moral values going down
Despite schools and universities in every town
Government became less transparent with secrecy
Media appeared more speculative than investigative
Pollsters and analysts turned airways into local gossips!
Suddenly I wok up and realize the situation -
My creative programs remained inside the corporation
My designs and prototypes became proprietary information
My papers and seminars stayed within organization
My words only reached who knew my profession
My voice only touched few ears busy with vocations!
Thats when I started writing without remuneration
Being free from modalities of institution
Expressing my full feelings without imposed limitation
Feeling the joy of freedom in true self revelation!
Learned with open mind from ancient history and religion
Watched everything around with a visionary vision
Wondered how I spent my youth as spectator
Discovered the power inside of creator
Gained courage, persistency, and visualization
Writing with vigour reaching millions
Using technology of rapid globalization!
Watched teachers and labourers in picket line
Reminding status quo of contract renewal time
While politicians giving them hefty raise
Sport and film industry making celebrities richer by night
Media Mughals became billionaires selling air!
Wish someone see my pains for worldwide injustice
Wish someone feels the extent of my optimism
Wish someone gets Universal vision in simplicity
While enjoying the flavour of my resolutionary writings
Suggesting fundamentals that re-vitalize eternal blessings!
