Loser
Ever since my childhood years
I heard the mantra of fear!
Unless I study and work hard in fast gear
I will end up in life as a loser!
I studied hard, worked harder!
Results only strengthened belief of fear further!
Good job, mortgage, insurance, health care -
Relatives, friends and guests, so dear!
I travelled parts of the world as loner
Searching for a part without much fear!
But wherever I went far and far -
People are driven by economic, political, and religious
fear!
As I directed my quest for the source of fear
People abandoned me; scolding, ‘Now you are a big loser’!
True, I started losing things fast and faster
Until I lost everything including fear -
Suddenly realized the joy in being a true loser
Regaining obvious in and around as eternal treasures!
