Forget

Darling!

They ask me to forget you!

They want me to erase you

From my memory!

The Toyota Camry you bought -

Still parked in the driveway!

My gift Nissan Pulsar for your graduation -

Still looks new and reminds me of that day!

The house I am living in -

Is the same one -

You found after long search!

Your beloved Scandinavian leather sofa

Still makes guest homey and comfortable!

All the CDs we produced together

Are still in display on my piano!

Videos of shows we made together

Are labeled on the video shelf!

The keyboard you presented me on my birthday

Is now my best companion!

I still play the same harmonium -

You inherited from your mother!

The lovebirds you bought and cared for -

Are now my best friends!

They learned to call me daddy

As their children made me a grandpa!

You found new lover before leaving me!

But, as I am trying to make another fresh start -

Everything in and around me

Just reminds you more than ever!
