Why Elect Politicians Who Ask Voters To Mistrust Government With Tax Dollars? (Deepak Sarkar, 1/18/2006) www.kolki.com)

The answer is simple, don’t! Because those politicians don’t know how to manage tax dollars, what to do with them and fundamentally don’t believe that Government belongs to ‘We the people’!

So, as we must ensure that our tax dollars are spent for the benefit of the country and the voters with honesty and sincerity we must also have faith on the politicians we elect. The best thing might be to have yearly review of our politicians to identify those who deserve recall. There must be a provision for recall in true democracy.

Thus, if we believe in democracy we must as well believe our politicians who we elect for the power to fulfill election promises, during their term in the office.

Politicians who have no faith in Government will misuse political power and tax dollars in many ways.

· Giving way money as Tax Cuts to the merchants who sponsored expensive fund

    raising dinners

·  Cutting services which are lifeblood of many citizens living at or below poverty line.

·  Implementing tolls and user fees for livelihoods, vacation and family recreation.

·  Increasing military funding since they have more faith in military than people.

·  Creating huge deficit as a direct result of tax cuts and military spending.

·  Urging people to support expensive and deadly war to boost failing economy

·  Creating prison industry to punish poor and opponents who fight to regain freedom and

     justice

·  Reconfiguring justice system so that it resonates with merchants and military.

·  Converting effective Government programs to profitable private industries

·  Using secret and intelligence services against their own people for dominance.

·  Finally running a divided country for maintaining status quo.

So, the bottom line is to resist electing someone who asks voters to mistrust Government with tax dollars. Also, it is better to ensure that the candidate maintains a working e-mail address as a sign of eagerness to listen from citizens.
