Minority Government can be a Blessing in disguise
working as a team to satisfy most common interests (Deepak Sarkar,
My heartiest congratulations to all New Members of Parliament. It takes a lot of courage and patience these days to be a public leader satisfying media standards and characterization. It is hard for those who lose after a long and hard campaign, my sincere gratitude to all who ran for the public office but couldn’t come to light.
One who wants to dedicate life for public service mostly does it out of true compassion to serve people and the country until they attain National Security and National Interests briefings. Often bitterness and frustration take them away from Campaign promises and idealism as they realize cannot speak anymore from the mind balancing between openness and secrecy.
It is always nice to see a government with majority so that
they can move their campaign agenda through Parliament easily. On the other
hand if the new winner is hostile to everything achieved by previous Government
then that majority can be counter productive for a country as it happened in
Thus a well balanced minority Government could be a blessing in disguise if and only if they work together for the common interest keeping in mind the divisive nature of vote distribution.
Conservative party by definition supposed to conserve and doesn’t necessarily be like the pro-military pro-dominance-by-force Bush Administration. We can label people in many ways but basically most of them want a peace loving and humane Government so that life could go on happily without much worry.
I sincerely hope our new Prime Minister, Mr. Stephen Harper,
would work in harmony with the opposition parties keeping in mind
Once again, Congratulations and best wishes to all of you. Regards!
